Beyond Borders, Beyond Boundaries: Celebrating 2 Years of IIHS Multiversity Empowering Global Citizens
This year, the International Institute of Health Sciences (IIHS) proudly celebrates the second anniversary of our state-of-the-art Multiversity campus in Kerawalapitiya, a milestone that reflects not just two years of innovation and growth, but the ongoing evolution of a legacy that spans over 23 years in healthcare and higher education.
From our beginning as a pioneering health sciences institute in Sri Lanka, IIHS has always been driven by a mission to empower students with knowledge, skills, and global values. The opening of the Multiversity campus in 2023 marked a bold leap forward, offering a purpose-built environment to foster a globally relevant, innovative, and holistic academic experience.
Growth Rooted in Purpose
In just two years, IIHS Multiversity has evolved into a dynamic academic and cultural hub, offering world-class education in nursing, biomedical sciences, allied health sciences and beyond. With world-class facilities, modern infrastructure, and collaborative spaces, it has redefined how students engage with learning and with each other. Our student population continues to grow, drawn by our commitment to quality, global outlook, and innovative teaching approaches. From lecture halls to collaborative spaces, the campus is full of life, driven by passionate educators and ambitious learners who are shaping the future of healthcare.
A Campus Alive with Celebration & Connection
One of the hallmarks of life at the IIHS Multiversity has been the diversity and vibrancy of our events. From the very beginning, the campus has been more than a place of study, it has become a place to connect, celebrate, and create lasting memories.
• Cultural Events: Our events like the Avurudu (Sinhala and Tamil New Year) celebrations have brought together staff, students, and families for days filled with traditional games, music, and food, fostering a deep sense of community.
• Student & Staff Initiatives: Events initiated and organized by the students and also by the staff have showcased incredible creativity, from health awareness campaigns to talent shows and charity drives.
• Rooftop Gatherings: The scenic rooftop space has become a signature feature of our campus, hosting everything from special events to festive get-togethers under the stars.
In our second year, we’ve taken major strides on the global stage through new collaborations, we proudly partnered with the University of Surrey (UK), opening new international pathway opportunities. This collaboration strengthens our programs and gives students access to global best practices in healthcare education. We have supported students beyond the classroom, with mentoring, career guidance, and various scholarship opportunities.
