Pradeep’s story is one of a kind! By all means it’s fair to say that Pradeep has set a trend for nursing professionals around the world and “transformed” the professional nursing landscape! Pradeep has been working as an Operating Theatre Nurse in Karapitiya Hospital, Sri Lanka since 2008. He completed his Bachelor of Nursing degree (awarded by the Open University of Malaysia) at IIHS in 2013, and was recognised with the “IIHS Smart Professional” award. To put his “out of the box thinking” in to practice and to propel his passion for humanitarian work, Pradeep joined “Doctors without Borders” Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) and has not looked back since then!
Pradeep has been working with health organisations which responds to medical emergencies in war zones and similar conditions and currently works as a Surgical Activity Manager in North Syria. His profession and humanitarian work has set him on a flying spree to Germany, India, Yogyakartha (in Indonesia), New Zealand, Kenya, South Sudan, Myanmar, Netherlands, Serbia, and Nigeria! Hopping on United Nations Humanitarian Air Service flight and reporting to “where he is most needed” (as Pradeep calls it) is part of his work routine! When we asked about his secret to success, he says “it’s all about making the right decisions at the right time and finding myself as a professional where I mostly fit in”.
